Lean in 13 - Week 1 Update

Date June 3, 2008

So the first week (not counting Sunday) was pretty hard. Trying to mentally instill in my mind that I need to eat every 2.5 hrs was difficult, because whenever I hit the 2.5 hr mark I was never around food. It was weird, sometimes when I ate, I could have gone 4+ hrs without eating, other times I’m starving 1/2 hr after I eat. Still need to work on the proper portions of the food I end up eating.

I weighed myself today and I lost about 1.5 lbs. Whoo hoo. Hopefully the weight starts to melt off. I hit the gym 3 times last week, I’m shooting for at least 4 this week.

I won’t list out my entire intake for the days last week but I will point out my main meals. I’m also jotting down everything I eat in my moleskine book. It comes in very handy when your starving and need to know if it’s okay to eat NOW.

Day 1 - Monday (Memorial Day)
Because this day was a holiday, my body decided to sleep in. Started off the day with Protein Shake and went to ProClub to workout.

I picked up some baby cucumbers (I always see Kishor eating them and I always thought they looked tasty), and they tasted nothing like I thought they would. BUT with a few dabs of honey mustard (fat-free of course) I was able to keep it down.

Had some turkey patties for dinner and had a midnight snake of Hurricane Popcorn. Bad, bad for the diet - need stop doing that.

Day 2 - Tuesday
The day was pretty spaced out week. My main meals for the day were two frozen terikayi glazed chicken breasts with edamame, and my dinner was Panko Chicken Breast with peas and carrots prepared by our own Myra dela Cruz.

Day 3 - Wednesday
The main meals today consisted of the teriyaki chickens and peas along with a foot long subway sandwich (Sweet Onion) but only at 1/2 at a time. I ran out of protein shake so I ended up eating a bar.

Day 4 - Thursday
Had a few different meals today, Breaded tilapia and yams in the morning - an Ahi Salad with (DP/XC/JL) at Gordon Biersch, and Myra’s Peanut Thai Noodles with green beans.

Day 5 - Friday (Cheat Day)
I began this day thinking I would only have a cheat meal at the BBQ that was scheduled today. The beginning of the day started out with good protein (4 egg whites/ 1 yolk) and protein bars, towards the end when we arrived at the BBQ I believe I had my share of (BEEF,RIBS,POTATO SALAD…and yes 3 beers) I tried running off most of the ginormous meal by playing cricket with the crew but I needed to hit the gym. After getting back to the office (BBQ was in Monroe) it ended up being too late to hit the gym and we just went to Q and S house to play Wii Fit. The apps there were good, but definitely not appropriate for the diet. So I ended up playing the Wii Fit to help burn off some calories, and I was skeptical at first thinking this thing can’t really make you sweat. I was wrong. If you have the Wii get the Fit cuz it’s freakin’ tite. (Especially the hoola hoop workout)

Day 6 - Saturday
Back to normal eating, I started off the day with a protein shake. Had to hit up Tukwila for a client so had chicken teriyaki and a small portion of rice. After working for 15 min, we went over to Myra’s parents house to drop off some stuff. I ended up taking in a meal over there as well, a little earlier than 2.5 hrs but I was starving. Had some good food there, and made sure I didn’t eat too many carbs. When we got home, all I ate were strawberries for my night time snack.
