Day 1 - Chi-town
July 6, 2008
Day one in Chi-town was pretty chill.
7:00 AM:
Myra dropped me off at Seatac and I’m on my way. Already did the web-checkin so all I need to do it hit up the “Check Baggage” section. It was a fucking mess - no distinct line for anything so I’m lost for about 5 min looking around for anything that resembled a line. I say fcuk it and dart towards the middle.
Guess who I see - Tor and DP’s cousin. Wth? I vaguely remember they said they’re going to LA for a Bachelor party. So we go through and check our luggage and hit up some quick breakfast.
8: 00 AM:
After eating a Mahi Mahi taco I book to my gate (N21) and I get there at 8:03AM, there was no one there. Apparently everyone got on the plane hella quick cuz boarding time was at 8 AM. Anyways as I get on I’mĀ keeping under the radarĀ because technically I had three carry-ons (1 luggage, my electronics bag, and my garment bag). I get to my seat and I see that I’m sitting next to an older couple. I’m thinking - cool it’ll be an easy flight. I was wrong…
8:30 PDT - 2:30 CST:
I find out that the little old couple next to me were Super Methodists. The lady that was sitting next to me, Gretchen, started hitting me up with some small talk - (Where do you live, work, do you have a girlfriend). When this lady found out Myra lives with me she tripped. Started off with how God will not bless me until we separate until marriage. Situations are different for different folks and this is how it worked out for us, I wasn’t angry, or tried to argue my point with this lady…I wanted to sleep. So after about 20 min of her sermon, I was able to get my earphones on to non-verbally tell her I’d like to sleep.
We arrive at O’Hare and surprise surprise - Gretchen wrote me a letter. Yes, she wrote me a letter telling me I should separate now until marriage or God will not bless me. So this was the story of the weekend - and I’m actually glad she wrote a letter because no one would believe me if I just told them what had happened.
REST OF THE DAY
Marc hooked me up with some Sushi cuz I was starving - we meet up with Cholo’s parents and take em to Dieho (Small China Market) and Hooters. Marc and I grabbed a few of the tea balls that bloom like flowers when you put them in hot water.
We chill over at Cholo’s crib for a few hours until Donna’s flight came in, Marc discovered what Craigslist is, I pass out from exhaustion, we hit up Shorewood to drop my ish off, head over to O’Hare to grab boodie, roll up to Walmart near Shorewood, then pass out for the night.
