Countdown to Vegas
Howard suggested I put this in the blog to “motivate” me. So here goes…
CURRENT WEIGHT: 235 LBS
GOAL WEIGHT POOLSIDE @ HARRAH’S: 205 LBS
There you have it, it’s posted, it’s Bible, it’s done. I have exactly 90 days from today’s date to reach that goal. Totally achievable. For those of you that remember, I lost 35 lbs last year when I was posting my daily food intake.
I’m sure most people with agree with me that the hardest part is getting back into the groove, both dieting and working out. After injuring my shoulder snowboarding at Crystal Mountain, working out has been pretty difficult. I know most of you reading this now, see this as just another excuse, but trust me - being “that” guy that’s having a hard time lifting just the bar doing a bench press is sad.
Running doesn’t put too much stress on my shoulder so I should be doing that more often, actually I should be running with Reesey (my Aussie Shepard/Alaskan Malamut mix) since she’s caged up all day for more than 12 hrs.
I’ll probably put together a plan this weekend now that I have that 90 day number in my head….hey…if those fat asses from the Biggest Loser can lose a gajillion lbs in 15 weeks, I’m sure I can lose a mere 30 lbs in 12 weeks.
p.s. This post is dedicated to all the people that will be poolside at Harrahs when my fat ass shows up…
UPDATE:
So I was perusing the Interweb and found this article from Zen Habits about commiting a habit to paper to break it…..
Not logging your progress. You can change habits without keeping a log, but a log blog just increases your chances of success — and why wouldn’t you want to do that? Things are hard enough without using all the tools at your disposal. A log blog helps you succeed because it reminds you to be consistent. It keeps you aware of what you’re actually doing. It motivates you, because you want to write good things in that log blog. It helps keep you accountable before the people you’ve made a commitment to.

Geez thanks for putting that all on me. I just thought it would be a good thing for you to keep track of. One thing that I learned this weekend but probably always knew was that muscle is heavier than fat. So if you keep working out you’re going to probably only be 5 lbs lighter but a lot slimmer. That’s whats going on with me right now.
